Daddy-and-Me Nature Walk
Saturday, Father's Day weekend, June 16th
Join us for a nature walk at Butterbee Farm! Explore the exciting world of plants and animals, and forage flowers and other wild things along the way. Everyone will create two nature inspired projects.
Programming is geared towards kids ages 6-12; moms are welcome too!
Where: Butterbee Farm, 500 Tristam Lane, Pikesville, MD 21208
When: Saturday, June 16th 9:30-11 am
The Details: Nature expert Peter Sparklin will lead you through our flower farm to find birds, insects, and plants. Everyone will forage natural objects along the way, and each child will make a suncatcher and a loom band project to take home. Iced coffee will be provided for the grownups, and gluten-free treats for everyone! Registration is $15/person.
What to Bring: Please bring water bottles, hats, and sunscreen, and wear close toed shoes that are good for walking. Feel free to bring a camera, too!
Peter Sparklin is the Crops Manager at Butterbee Farm. Before he managed farms, he was a Naturalist for the Maryland Park Service, where he ran the nature center, summer camp, and campfire programs at Patapsco Valley State Park. He has led nature walks and programs on insects, plant identification, building campfires, and much more. Peter loves hiking, flowers, and all insects.
